THE BEGINNING : How this woman from a small town in UP started her own Fashion Business bootstrap.

Born and brought up of Lakhimpur Khiri, UP. Dipali when was a little girl she grew up doing embroidery, stitching clothes and tailoring for passion which eventually brought in years of experience with working with multiple types of clothes and fabrics gave.

Whenever she wore her own handmade clothes everyone suggested her to do fashion designing when she grows up.

Her schooling, UG & PG was completed from Lakhimpur Khiri itself by 1991.

In 1992 Dipali Gupta went to Delhi for Diploma in Fashion from International for Polytechnic for women New Delhi. Which was her introduction to fashion industry.

While visiting in rural areas of Madgao Aliganj, Lucknow, Dipali with her friend, in search of a tailor found a bunch of women doing embroidery of chikankari on small frames instead in 1996!

It was that moment when she wanted to start her own business of chikan kari, She started experimenting with the designs and executing her ideas immediately by investing Rs. 5000 that she saved from her father.

Started with selling her salwar suits, sarees, cushions and bedsheet in home decor as well.

people around, friends and family started buying her designs.

She did this from 1996-1999, after her birth of second child in 2000 she continued her entrepreneurship journey through thick and thins of life on small scale with breaks.

The key element in her style of business was dealing with her customers that still is extra ordinary till this date.

Now Dipali through Dhaaga is connected to diverse range of South Asian woman across the globe, over 10+ countries!
